Description

Chicken Alfredo Pizza Bowls combine savory chicken, creamy Alfredo sauce, and cheesy pizza flavors baked inside an edible pizza dough bowl, making a perfect gameday appetizer or fun family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Seasoning

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasonings
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Chicken and Dough

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 16 oz. pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder

Toppings and Sauce

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ tsp minced garlic
  • 2 oz. cream cheese (softened)
  • ½ cup milk
  • ⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken: In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasonings, kosher salt, and black pepper. Rub this seasoning mix evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook until fully cooked through and no longer pink inside, about 6-8 minutes per side. Remove from heat and let rest.
  3. Prepare the Dough Bowls: Preheat the oven to 375°F. Roll out the pizza dough and cut into 12 equal pieces. Lightly brush each piece with 2 tablespoons olive oil combined with Italian seasoning, kosher salt, and garlic powder. Place each dough piece into a muffin tin or similar mold to form small bowls.
  4. Bake the Dough Bowls: Bake the dough bowls in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and firm. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.
  5. Make the Alfredo Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the softened cream cheese and milk, whisking until smooth. Add grated Parmesan cheese, kosher salt, and black pepper. Cook for 3-5 minutes until the sauce is creamy and heated through.
  6. Slice the Chicken: Slice the cooked chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces or strips suitable for filling the bowls.
  7. Assemble the Pizza Bowls: Spoon Alfredo sauce into each dough bowl, then add sliced chicken on top. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese and chopped fresh basil.
  8. Bake the Filled Bowls: Return the filled bowls to the oven and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Serve: Remove the pizza bowls from the oven and serve warm, enjoying the edible dough bowl filled with creamy chicken Alfredo goodness.
